I believe bird watching is a gateway to a deeper understanding and appreciation of the natural world, and studies have shown that having a connection to the world around us is very beneficial to our physical and mental health.

Bird watching is so easy to do! You can watch birds anywhere, from the largest cities to the most remote locations. You need very little equipment - just a pair of binoculars and a field guide. Plus, there is no particular time commitment; bird watching takes only as much time as you are willing to spend.

The Midwest is a fantastic place to enjoy our feathered friends. We have diverse habitats that attract a wonderful variety of birds. On this website, I have included photos, information about different species, tips to attract birds to your area, great places to look for birds, videos, app and book reviews and more.

Whether you are a beginning bird watcher or an expert birder, I hope you'll find something on this website that inspires you. Thank you for visiting!

Happy birding!
~Alexandra ("Alex") Forsythe

Here are a few of the birds currently on this website. Check back often! I add birds frequently!
